About Mettã Wellness

Kristen Barefield MSSA-LISW-S:

Kristen Barefield, LISW-S, is an experienced therapist specializing in anxiety, trauma, and life transitions. She works with adolescents and adults who feel overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, or impacted by difficult past experiences and are ready to create meaningful change.

Kristen earned her Bachelor of Science from Youngstown State University and her Master of Science in Social Administration from Case Western Reserve University. She has been practicing as a social worker since 2008 and became independently licensed in Ohio in 2015.

Kristen primarily uses Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients understand the connection between past experiences, thoughts, emotions, and current patterns. Her work focuses on reducing anxiety, processing trauma, strengthening coping skills, and helping clients develop healthier ways of responding to stress and relationships.

Her approach is compassionate, collaborative, and direct. Kristen provides a supportive environment where clients can explore difficult experiences while also learning practical strategies they can use outside of therapy.

At Mettā Wellness, Kristen believes therapy is not simply about managing symptoms—it is about understanding yourself more deeply, healing from experiences that continue to affect you, and building the confidence and skills to move forward.

Melissa Raub-Wollman- Reiki Level III Master

Melissa’s Reiki/Energy Journey

Many months after the tragic transition to Spirit, of her youngest son, Aidan, in October 2021, Melissa Raub-Wollman started to find some healing through Reiki. Inspired by her own experiences, she was curious to learn more about this ancient healing practice. After reading “Hands-on Healing: A Practical Guide to Channeling Your Healing Energies”, and practicing the exercises on anyone willing.  And then, “Essential Reiki: A Complete Guide to an Ancient Healing Art,” she knew that this path was her calling.

In June 2024, a Reiki Master recognized her passion and guided her to earn Reiki Practitioner Level I & II certifications. Melissa believes Reiki can be beneficial for anyone.  That it facilitates deep healing by helping release emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual blockages. She emphasizes that while Reiki flows where needed, true healing depends on the receiver’s openness and willingness to accept, acknowledge and help themselves heal.

Melissa hopes to bring Reiki into the mainstream, making its benefits accessible to all.

Amen, A’ho, and so it is.
